For example, I have worked with biologists during a research about ants behavior and their exploration techniques (I have two conference articles in this area, entitled: Following an Ant&#8217;s path by a Mobile Robot and Harvest activity and Termal threshold of Acromyrmex Lobicornis ant), and with bioengineers and psychologists during my work with Human Machine Interfaces. I have been working with psychologists because we were studying how the biofeedback is related with the cognitive process of individuals that present some kind of physical disability.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m currently gathering (and leading) a group of academic and young researchers from <em>Universidad T\u00e9cnica Federico Santa Mar\u00eda<\/em>, with whom I started the research group called GRAI (in spanish: <em>Grupo de Rob\u00f3tica Aut\u00f3noma e Industrial<\/em>; in English: Autonomous and Industrial Robotics Research Group).<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOLLOW ME:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Fernando_Auat_Cheein\" target=\"_blank\">Research Gate<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FOLLOW MY GROUP:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCbl-ImblvKd8WqkJso33iOQ\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube: videos of our experiments<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, I&#8217;m starting collaboration research with the following Professors and Researchers: Giulio Reina (<em>Universit\u00e0 de Salento<\/em>, Italy), George Kantor (RI-CMU, USA), Jos\u00e9 Guivant (University of New South Wales, Australia) and Miguel Torres-Torriti (<em>Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile<\/em>). I also maintain active collaboration with Argentina, Brazil and Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 class=\"fac-title text-left\" style=\"color:\">Biography<\/h3>\n\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>Dr. Fernando A. Auat Cheein is an Associate Professor at the Universidad T\u00e9cnica Federico Santa Mar\u00eda, in Valpara\u00edso, Chile. He received his degree in Electronics Engineering -with honors- from the Universidad Nacional de Tucum\u00e1n, Argentina, in 2002, becoming one of the youngest engineers in Argentina, the Master and the Doctorate degree in Control Systems from the Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Argentina, in 2005 and 2009 respectively, obtaining in both, the excellence grade. His Master\u2019s thesis concerned the development of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) for controlling robotic devices (robot manipulators, mobile robots and robotic wheelchairs). His doctorate\u2019s thesis focused on SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms applied to mobile vehicles, including robotic wheelchairs. He has several publications in both the robotics field and the rehabilitation field.<\/p>\n<p>He started his researcher carreer during his post phd on agricultural robotics, in Argentina, where he published his first ISI journal paper in 2009. Since then, Prof. Auat Cheein has published near 20 ISI journal papers in top ranked journals and several chapter books.\u00a0He has lead his research in the 95% of the publications (as corresponding author). Several of his publications have been awarded as selected or best papers. He is currently a reviewer of numerous indexed journals, member of conference scientific committees and acted as an Editor from an ISI journal. His main research interests are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Autonomous Navigation in Mobile Robotics<\/li>\n<li>Mapping and Localization (SLAM techniques)<\/li>\n<li>Bio-robotics and Rehabilitation Robotics<\/li>\n<li>Agricultural Robotics<\/li>\n<li>Trajectory Tracking Control (both one robot and multi-robots system)<\/li>\n<li>Estimation Theory<\/li>\n<li>Brain-Computer Interfaces connected to Robots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the topics mencioned above, Dr. Auat Cheein has ISI journal papers in the top ranked journals.
