Small Bio:

I was born in Valdivia, Chile, in1979.  I studied Electronics Engineering at the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria in Valparaíso, Chile.  During my (first) stay there, I had the opportunity to work with Prof. José Rodríguez and Prof. Mario E. Salgado.   I owe to the first one an initial interest in research, whilst working towards my MSc degree with Don Mario made me realize that I really enjoyed it.  In February 2006 I moved to Newcastle, Australia, to begin PhD studies at The University of Newcastle.  I completed my Ph.D. Thesis in September 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Graham C. Goodwin and Dr. Daniel E. Quevedo.  I got the PhD degree in March 2009.  At the moment, I am a researcher and lecturer at the Electronics Engineering Department, Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria, Valparaíso, Chile.

I am married and have a beautiful little baby girl, Isabel.

My present/past co-workers include: Milan S. Derpich, Dr. Brendan McGrath (Monash University, Melbourne, Australia) and Prof. Vincent Wertz (catholic University of Leuven, Belgium), Dr. Jan Ostergaard (Aalborg Univeristy, Denmark) and Diego A. Oyarzun (Hamilton Institute, Rep. of Ireland).

Research interest:

MIMO control systems, performance limits in MIMO control systems, decentralized control architectures and networked control.  I have also done some work in power electronics and signal processing.

You can find a list of my publications here.
