Welcome to my webpage!

I am Full Professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM) in Valparaiso, CHILE.

I am currently Rector (President) of our University for the 2022-2026 term. Previously, I was member of the University Board (2014-2018) and  Principal Investigator of the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering leading the line of research in Control & Automation from 2014-2022, and I was Director of the Center from 2015 to 2019.

My research interest are modeling, identification and control of sampled-data systems, with applications to biomedical systems and power electronics. I did my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (University of Newcastle, 2006) under the supervision of Prof. Graham C. Goodwin. You can find my Ph.D. Thesis  (.pdf , .zip). I was Associate Editor of Automatica, the flagship journal of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), from 2013 to 2022.
